  32. Forget about your Workbench serial.prefs, they aren't being used!

  34. If you have a 14400 modem, you should really set a baud rate of at least
  35. 38400 to take advantage of compression.

  37. Set your serial rate to 38400 using a terminal program, and save it to
  38. your modems NVRAM. Then make sure you have the same baud rate specified
  39. in your ppp0.config file, e.g.
  40.  
  41. serial.device 0 38400 (etc)

  43. The main thing is that your serial rate and ppp0.config should match.
